Academic analysis of new wave art. Interesting.
Not as good as the trilogy but developed the characters a little and introduced some new and interesting people. Worth reading to keep up with the story line but not as gripping. Audio book was nicely done.
It was a solid bit of fantasy with a lot of effort on creating a slightly different world to that traditionally examined with imps and fairies. I lost the plot at the end and will need to revisit as so much happened in a few pages that recast the whole character development of the protagonist. I do want to know more about Frey so maybe it deserves another star. The author has a creative view of magic that I like but at times a little more … explanation might help. Certainly worth a read if you like female heroines discovering themselves and their power.
Never quite know if I like Reacher books or not. Sometimes it’s just too easy for the character to triumph yet he does, at everything. They are a bit of opium for that part of the mind that needs a quick thrill with a well known character – a Batman or Superman. Tom Cruise he is not – thank goodness – but if you like others you will find this enjoyable and quick.
